Information we are required to disclose to you.

As a Tax Agent, our work for you is performed in accordance with the Tax Agent Services Act 2009. Under this act, the Tax Agent Services (Code of Professional Conduct) Determination 2024 requires that we make the following disclosures to you:

  • Matters that could significantly influence your decision to engage us (or continue to engage us) for a Tax Agent Service from July 2022 onward include the following:

  • The Tax Practitioner’s Board maintains a register of Tax Agents and BAS Agents. You can access and search this register here.  Public Register | Tax Practitioners Board 


  • If you have a complaint about our Tax Agent Services, please contact Andrew Davies (Director) by email. We will acknowledge your complaint by email within 5 days and outline our dispute resolution process which aims to resolve your complaint within 14 days.  If you are unhappy with the outcome that we propose to you, you can then make a complaint to the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) using the link listed above. The TPB will send you an email to acknowledge the receipt of your complaint and review and risk assess your complaint. The link above also includes details regarding your review rights should you be unhappy with how the TPB has handled your complaint.

At AKD Accounting Pty Ltd we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your data in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and other applicable laws.

The Privacy Act does provide individuals with the option of not identifying themselves, or of using a pseudonym, when dealing with us if it is lawful and practicable to do so. However, to provide our financial services, it is not possible to deal with individuals anonymously or with a pseudonym, as legislation requires that we confirm the identity of an individual prior to providing a financial service. We are bound by the laws governing our various activities to collect personal information in order to provide you with our services.

The types of information we collect may vary depending on the nature of your engagement with us, whether you are an individual, a business owner, or a corporate client. 


Personal Information

  • Full name, date of birth, gender, and contact details (address, phone number, email)
  • Tax File Number (TFN), Director Identification Number (DIN), Australian Business Number (ABN), and other government-issued identifiers
  • Bank account details and financial transaction history
  • Employment details, income statements, and payslips
  • Superannuation information
  • Investment details and asset holdings
  • Personal identification documents (e.g., driver’s license, passport)
  • Health information (only if relevant to financial or taxation matters)
  • Digital identifiers such as IP address, device information, and login credentials      (if using our online services)

Business Information

  • Business registration details and structure
  • Financial statements, profit and loss reports, and balance sheets
  • BAS statements and GST records
  • Payroll records and employee information
  • Supplier and customer details
  • Business bank account and transaction records
  • Loan and finance agreements
  • Contracts and legal documents relevant to financial reporting


Sensitive Information

We may collect sensitive information (such as health or disability details) only when necessary for specific services (e.g., tax deductions or government benefits) and with your explicit consent.

  • Managing and reporting notifiable data breaches in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme


Operational and Administrative Purposes

  • Managing internal records and client files
  • Conducting quality assurance, risk management, and staff training

  • Integrating with accounting software platforms (e.g.,BGL, Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) to streamline service delivery
  • Engaging external consultants or service providers (e.g., IT support, legal      advisors) under strict confidentiality agreements


We are committed to using your information responsibly and transparently. We do not use your data for marketing purposes unless you have provided your consent, and we never sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
